Guildfordians continued their unbeaten run in Surrey 4 last weekend, recording a comprehensive 69-5 win against Reigate on Stoke Park. Centre Tom Halsey scored an incredible 5 tries, bringing his tally for the first 3 games to 11 tries. The win puts Guildfordians at the top of Surrey 4, joint on points with close rivals Woking.

It was Reigate who got off to the better start after Guildfordians put the ball out directly from the kick off due to very difficult conditions. The visitors led a charge downfield and after a good number of phases, went over in the corner to make it 0-5. After the opening exchange, the Guildfordians forwards started to dominate the game and gave their backs a platform from which to attack. Man of the match hooker Dan Connolly led the pack around the field making hard yards and giving none in return. It was this platform that allowed the hosts to dictate the first half, with tries from full back Matt Wells, Skipper Chris Buckwell and a hat trick from centre Tom Halsey.

The 2nd half was much the same, with Guildfordians forwards marauding around the field and providing plenty of clean ball to the backs. Guildfordians debutant Neil Fischer scored twice from fly half and provided plenty of ball to allow Halsey to go over twice more in the 2nd half. The pick of the tries was scored from young Matt Wells, who chipped over the top and collected his own kick to score under the posts for the final try of the game. Guildfordians travel to Haslemere this weekend, looking to continue their positive start to the season.
